BEAUTY // THE BALM BALM

I first heard about this lip balm on a newsletter about LFW stating it was a 'top watched' product so I instantly went to check it out on Feel Unique. At £3.50 a pot I was more than happy to purchase as this is around the same cost as my usual Carmex and with all the hype over it I thought it was definitely going to be worth it.

I hadn't heard of Balm Balm before this but they actually do a fair sized range of other organic skincare products all at reasonable and affordable prices. There are 3 different scents you can get from this lip balm range, there's rose geranium, tea tree and a fragrance free one. I decided on the rose geranium as I like a scent to my balms but tea tree isn't a scent I'd particularly want on my lips! What I thought sounded even more amazing about this tiny little pot is that not only is it a lip balm but you can use it as a face balm, hand balm and foot balm! Although if I was using it for feet I don't think I'd want to be using it on my lips too! It's also 100% organic containing shea butter, sunflower, beeswax, jojoba and calendula rose geranium essential oil melted together to make a solid balm formulation to soothe, moisturise and nourish your lips. I'm not really knowledgeable on all the scientific bits when it comes to products but the ingredients sounded good to me.

After all of this rambling above about the product I have to say...I was disappointed. The scent of it is nice enough but when applied to your lips it's like rubbing body lotion on and I'm not talking about texture wise, it's the taste. Apart from the taste it does feel soothing and moisturising but it hasn't done any miracles for my dry lips and I definitely prefer my carmex. I havn't tried it on any other part other than my lips so maybe it's a better product for dry hands or face so I'll hold on to it for now but I can safely say I won't be repurchasing it.
