FASHION // COLOUR FORECAST

This weeks post has taken me days to complete (literally), I've meticulously gone through every designers a/w '14 collection searching for the re-occurring colour trends of the season and chose the top 9 colours that made a regular re-appearance. Some of these colours I can't wait to see influence high street stock like dove grey, who doesn't love a grey? Others I will most likely be avoiding.

I'm not going to talk about each individual colour as I will most likely begin to drone and you will get bored after the first two therefore I will briefly explain my favourites and  those colours I will be avoiding.

WHITE...obviously white is in my top 3 favourites and I'm so glad it's making a transition from s/s to a/w! It is such an effortless colour and I am very much a minimalist therefore if I am not layered in black or grey it would be a crisp white.

Dove grey is another I'm looking forward to filling my wardrobe up with. Sometimes I think grey can look a bit washed out, especially marl grey but this shade is slightly lighter and a lot less dreary! I would be forever grateful if AF Vandevors influenced a store to bring out a shorter version of their dove grey coat for us shorter people who can't pull off wearing full length #shortpeopleproblems

I've surprised myself with these choices but I'm actually really liking the powder blue and pink shades which I thought would be something I'd never say! I've never ever in my whole life been a pink kinda girl and I'm probably not going to start now but there's no harm in admiring the colours.

Moving on to the colour trends I am not favouring...camel. For some reason a camel (or beige as most people know it) jacket is acceptable to me, I mean a beige trench coat is an absolute timeless piece like the classic Burberry but the thought of wearing any other item of clothing in this colour is an instant no no for me. I've always related the shade to going into a store like BHS and being overwhelmed by a beige army of elderly grey tops head to toe in various hues of beige. It's a favoured colour, they love it. Beige...just saying the word puts years on you. That goes without saying that the next colour on the hate list is dark brown! The same applies to brown as it does with beige, the only exception would be a brown shearling jacket. I don't know what it is about jackets being able to carry it off but they just do and there is no other justification for disliking beige and brown other than they remind me of my Grandma and Grandad.

Which colours will you be backing next season?
